New Year's Day
Officially a public holiday, the new year is welcomed to the islands with gala balls and parties at hotels and clubs as well as Church services throughout the parishes.

Spice Island Billfish Tournament
This annual tournament attracts fishermen from around the world, with cash prizes for first,second and third place boats, as well as any records broken. This tournament will be a tag and release one, with the rules for the tournament being the latest edition of the 'International Angling Rules-Rules for fishing in fresh and salt water' (IGFA).
Tag and release rules will be provided at the time of registration. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the tournament committee will be final. All fish weighed in the tournament, become the property of the tournament committee

La Source Grenada Sailing Festival
The 13th Annual Grenada Sailing Festival promises plenty of action with more than four (4) races, regattas, an all day craft market and a Cultural Street Festival.

Independence Day Celebrations
One of the highlights of this public holiday in Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique, is a military parade at Tanteen.  Beach parties are also prominent on the islands.

Carriacou's Carnival Celebrations
Carnival on the sister island is held at the pre-lenten time.  Music fills the air during the two days of the Parade of the Bands.  Prior to this there is a kiddies carnival, and competitions to select the  King and Queen of the Mas Bands, and the Calypso Monarch.

Carnival 2005 - Pageant
Pageant in Grenada features the fancy bands and costumes, with masqueraders parading the through the streets of St. George's to the National Stadium for judging. Pageant parade begins at 1:00 pm.
Monday Day Nite Mas
in St. George's begins around 10:00 pm. The night bands parade through the streets of the capital city together with steelbands and supporters.

Street theatre with traditional or Ole mas. Witness the original Jab Jab, Vekou, Wild Indian, Apache and various forms of Perrotte Grenada mas, music and chants.
Parade of Bands
Carnival Tuesday features the Parade of the Bands through the streets of St.George's. The official parade begins from 2:00 pm.

In the evening jump-up through the streets of St. George’s to the sounds of steelband and local DJs as everyone wnjoys a Las Lap.
