Shopping Malls: most of our (big) shopping centres are located in the Grand Anse area, but you will also find a huge variety of souvenirs shops and art galleries in town (St.George's). Not to be forgotten, our vendor market directly on the Grand Anse beach.
Our general business hours are from Monday - Friday| 8 am - 4 pm and Saturdays from 8 am - noon. But most of our big Supermarkets are open until 7 pm, the Real Value Supermarket in the Spiceland Mall (Grand Anse) until 9 pm weekdays and also open on Sunday until 4 pm.

What to buy in the Isle of Spice

caribbean rum productsFirst of all, you cannot visit the Caribbean and not take back some of the rum with you. That is why we recommend that you at least try some of the local rum, which is distilled from sugar cane. It is usually mixed with a variety of local spices to give it a flavour all its own.
There are several different brands to choose from, but the most sought after one is the River Antoine Rum, which is distilled at the oldest Rum Factory on the island. It has a very high alcohol content, so we do recommend that you sit while drinking it. The demand for this type of rum is such that it can hardly be found in the shops, and is sold out in no time at all.
The next most popular brand is the Westerhall Rum, which is normally for export. It is not bottled in large quantities though, but it can usually be found in the stores. Prices are from $9 EC..........$35EC.

Nutmeg & Guava Jam.

These are some of the more popular local jams on the market. They are all made locally and give you that taste which says Isle of Spice. They can be purchased in any of the local supermarkets, or directly from the factory, La Grenade Industries.

While there are a lot of places where you can purchase T-shirts on the island, if you would prefer good quality at affordable prices, then we would suggest that you pay a visit to Ganzee. The shop is situated in the Esplanade Mall, and offers duty free shopping.

Also available are Batik work and paintings, both of which are in the heart of the town.

And of course, SPICES....SPICES.... SPICES! - You will find them everywhere.
